I didn't realize how abrupt I just left a few days ago. Well I didn't get to share a few days ago that I was going out of town for a bit just 4 days supposed to be but I ended up having more days off than planned. So yeah. Let me just share. I was out of town for a few days and I was in my hometown :) Sorry I didn't get to say properly to some that I'll be gone for a bit owo While we were there we were mostly resting and studying both Russian and Italian. I realized I've been saying I'm understand Italian a lot, but I'm kinda shy and not confident about my Italian so I decided to re learn the language. Anyways here's a pic of me, my sister and my cousins at the church before the mass on Christmas day. I didn't really expect to go to church but then hey, We're at the Philippines, so might as well.


So yeah. I was supposed to be back working today but I ended up not working because my sister and I had to go to the mall and buy our aunt a gift. I mean for the whole year we were depending on her a lot so yeah here.


We made joke presents so that she wouldn't expect too much but we actually gave her a waffle maker and a mug :) My sister also told me to take the other days off as well. But I decided to at least have a few lessons here and there tomorrow since I won't be too busy anymore. I think I need to get back to my routine. I have to adjust my sleep again owo hopefully after the new year :) so yeah. I just decided to show you guys a few pictures of how my holiday went :) I hope I can see you guys again soon :D

I'm not sure if I've told anyone but I really love Star Trek reboot. I don't think I can watch the original series yet. I don't want to compare the original one from this one, and I guess it's from my generation and I guess it was made so people like me who are from this generation to love the classic series. As in I think this might be my most favorite movie series now. I'll try to list the reasons as to why it is so.

The first thing I love about Star Trek is that it shows cultural diversity. United Federation of the Planets. Don't you just love the idea of all special co habituating and having one council representing them? I honestly love ASEAN. I mean, I always think of South East Asia as a place where there are countries with groups of islands. So guess what? Those group of islands didn't care and just made an association representing all of them despite having big cultural differences within their countries and outside their archipelagos. I think it's really amazing that in Star Trek all the members of the Federation are walking around each other's planets co habituating without discrimination nor prejudices. I want our world to be like that. Isn't it making anyone jealous that the main protagonists have deep dependency between each other and they aren't from the same planet. Oh yeah. The best reason to love the Enterprise crew? There's a Scottish engineer, a Japanese helmsman, a Russian navigator, Vulcan-Human first officer. So yeah basically I love all of them but I listed the first three people I love the most. Most of the crew might be human, but there are others who are not really named but everyone in the Enterprise respect each other despite their race and cultural differences. What keeps them together? Their love for space.

Another thing I loved about Star Trek is that because of it I really took the time to understand air force ranks because of it. Well I want to share that I learned military ranks because of Full Metal Alchemist but air force and military ranks are different. Well yeah military ranks are important, but I can't see much about military ranks but politics and power houses. I love air force ranks maybe because the Enterprise crew don't really try to advance and leave their crew. It's especially clear in the third movie where Jim was offered Vice Admiral position in Yorktown and he chooses instead to still be Enterprise's Captain where he can be himself with his crew. And the time where Jim and Spock were practically separated in the second movie because he was demoted and put in another crew. He proposed a mission after a certain incident not sure if anyone would be interested and I'll spoil them and he still choses his crew to be with in that mission. He treats his crew as family and is distraught whenever he sees something bad happens to his crew mates. It might not be expressive but his actions show all of his love for his crew. And everyone loves him back. Nyota practically traps herself with Krall trusting that Jim will save her and the other members of the crew. They don't have second doubts. Although Krall is right that the crew's love for each other is also their weakness. Spock was mortally wounded yet Bones wouldn't leave him to be on his own. Another instance is when Krall was about to kill Hikaru and they gave what Krall wanted because they didn't want Hikaru to die. They're actually family more than a crew now at I think about it.

Another thing I love about Star Trek is that it is infinite. Star Trek actually opened my eyes to the different kinds of time travel. I understood the different kinds of time travel. Here in Star Trek, they believe that space time continuum is altered when you time travel. Meaning you are living another life when you time travel. This reboot series is actually another time dimension from the originals which is why I don't want to watch the originals. This series is now different from the last. It might have similarities, but the life they are living is different from the last which is why Admiral Spock does not interfere as much as possible with the lives of the current Enterprise crew. He knows how his life plays out but the lives of the current Jim and Spock is different from him and his friend Jim from his time. Want proof? I only know a few things about the original series so there are only a few ok? Jim's father is dead. In the original series, Spock said that Jim's dad lived to see him become a captain. Spock also says that in the original timeline, Jim's inspiration to join the Starfleet was because of his father unlike in the alternate timeline where he only joined because of a dare. Another difference is that the planet Vulcan is diminished to nothing in this timeline. Ok last difference is in the second movie where Jim dies instead of Spock dying. It was Spock doing everything he can to avenge Jim and along the way finding a way to revive Jim.

I can list lots of more things about why I love this series but I think I kinda forgot some of them. I'll list more when I can think about it :) Anyways this post was supposed to be posted in my other blog but I decided to post it here as well in hopes there would be some interested in the series as well. It's really amazing and I wanted to let you guys know what kind of person I am and the things that interest me. Anyways that's pretty much it about this post. This is long anyways owo.

I've been saying lately that I'm gonna start learning Italian next year. But if I'm going to be honest, I want to learn Russian more than Italian right now. I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with figure skating but I want to learn Russian. Like for real. I wanna know what Russian is like. I honestly have a friend who knows Russian so it would be awesome because I'd have someone I can actually talk to in that language and I really wanna know their culture. I've been saying a lot how much I love culture and how I want to know about other people's culture. Russians have this weird stereotype on them that they are scary and buff and that they sound like Klingon Mila Kunis said someone told her she sounded like Klingon. But I realize I don't want to judge them based on how American media has judged them. I want to know them for who they really are and how they think. I've said to some of my students and I wanted to share them with you guys as well if I have already said this to you or you know this you are awesome.

For me speaking in another language is like seeing the world in a different perspective. I mean for every language there are different ways to express ourselves. Like English itself has many different dialects. There's American English, British English, Australian English I'll use just these 3 first as my basis for example. The way they express one word can be different. Giving an example

American (& Canada) English: Apartment
British English: Flat
Australia (& New Zealand) English: Unit

I did not expect to add Canada and New Zealand but it was written there and I feel like it's good to add more info :)) Anyways, see how they are only pertaining to one thing yet they each expressed themselves differently? How much more if the language is completely different from what you know? Do they see the same things you do? Do they have a word for this feeling? Is there a way to describe what I am seeing. Those kinds of thoughts are what feeling linguist people like me have. So yeah I just wanted you guys to know :) I hope I can also inspire you to think that way and not just think of learning a language as a chore. We are lucky that we have a universal language. But I think having different languages and cultures are what makes all of us unique and beautiful. I hope I see you guys at class :)

I just wanted to share that there are times that I read articles about the LGBTQIA and I realize that there are some that refer to themselves as they rather than he or she because of gender fluidity. I found this very fascinating and I wanted to share it with everyone. I'm not going to confuse everyone and explain what this is but some people do not necessarily group themselves as female or male and they use the pronoun they to refer to themselves. I can't necessarily say that a lot of people use this because not everyone is aware.

aia. I haven't been blogging lately. And I feel like there are lots of things to blog! Well I'll try to cut them by pieces and tell whichever comes first. So I just wanted to say that for a few days now I've been planning to watch NigeHaji because a student of mine recommended it and I accidentally watched a video of people doing the 恋いダンス. So I'm currently very curious and I want to try it too! Is it really very famous? Please tell me! hahaha.

hmm. What else is there? hmm. I'll be travelling to my hometown for Christmas! So I'll be gone from December 23 to December 26. Oh and I'll make another blog post about what happened last Sunday :)

I don't know what to expect these next few days because I kinda have a bad news affecting me lately. I hope it doesn't show too much during class so I'm saying sorry ahead. I'll still try my best to be lively :)

I'm thinking about buying lots of toys. haha. I just wanted to share that sometimes kids have lessons with me but aren't really interested in class. I had a student last night who I think didn't want to talk to me last night. So I ended up showing him my pet toy and that got him talking. Maybe I need more toys. I was thinking maybe kids will like it if we kinda have role play between toys? I mean I just thought of it last night so back me up on this. Well, I think kids have it rough and I know that some of them do not really want to or are forced to learn things they don't want to. So I was thinking maybe I should make it interesting for this kid? And I feel like my theory is correct because another person actually thinks the same and applied it to an institution. I really feel like English shouldn't be a めんどくさい thing for kids. I know the importance of english because I, myself, use it better than any of the other languages I know. But if I have other opinions I'd better keep that to myself :)) For now I think supporting my students and being what I am is best for my students. I just wanted to share as well that if I was given an opportunity to teach at that school I would because I think that institution would be the real definition of catering to student's needs :)


Can you imagine what kind of future children can have if they can start choosing at a young age? I would just like to share that at a young age I didn't know what I wanted to be because there are soo many things in school that I can be and I don't know which I'm really good at. I wasn't until I was working did I realize what I really wanted to be. I have to be honest that when I say I want to be a teacher in the future. It was never "I always wanted to be a teacher". I only discovered how much I wanted to be when I was actually doing it. I only landed this job because I was doing jobs a teacher can do and my previous company gave me the opportunity to be a teacher for real and it was amazing how much I came and loved being a teacher. I did not expect that I would be here almost one year and still be teaching. I'm in a different company, yet here I am doing what I love doing. I'll do my best to stay here. :)

Another day well spent :) A few days ago I was joking I should change my job title as Meiko the story reader. Now it's totally different and I love it I'm gonna be a big ball of motivation for my students. Haha. I really love it when students are more than eager to learn. I mean learning it is good, but when they question you for better ways or when they themselves seek out the hows and whys it's very exciting for me. I feel like I want to support them the most :D I can't believe how cheezy I was as well a while ago. I even feel like I made one of those motivational quotes you find in pintrest. If I have time, I'll turn it into one out of boredom. I dunno. haha. I feel really happy meeting all of my students today, even the kids :) I just wanted to share that I always make it a point to ask my students if they enjoyed during feedback because I think them enjoying the language more than learning it is important for me. I feel like some students are pressured. I wish they aren't. I wish they would sit back more and enjoy the language. Maybe I should make it know to my students ne? I'll talk to them about it. Anyways here's the cheezy line I said to one of my students.

The best way to learn a language is to embrace it.

For that moment you are a member of the world that speaks that language.

You may not realize it, but

You are part of both those worlds.

I watched the news from here and I'm not sure if I'm correct but it says both Hanyu Yuzuru and Uno Shoma can do quad loops right? I'm confused because no one at the GPF was talking about Uno Shoma being able to do quad loops but here in the news they say he can? Is my source wrong? orz

After months of not watching this here I am again sharing 和楽器バンド. Enka is really amazing. I can't help but not be amazed by this. What is up with me? I started Russian a few days ago but because of GPF, youtube is showing me all of the Japanese people and songs I really like. and here Wagakki bando pops out from under. I have no regrets tho. Their vibrating voices really amaze me. So not sharing this is a sin. haha. Anyways I think I'm in a slump -_- I need to stop procrastinating orz.

bb Shoma won bronze! ネータンチェンと宇野 昌磨すごくいいじゃん！#teamsQUAD ugh I love them. I mean they are soo amazing! They are 5th and 4th place during the short program then they transcended to 2nd and 3rd respectively! It's soo amazing! Haha to my student's today this is why I was kinda happy and giddy today :)) I have to be honest tho at first it was just Shoma Uno I was following. Now I feel like I'm gonna follow Nathan Chen now. I can't believe that they just started joining the GPF. It's Nathan Chen's first year and Shoma's 2nd year. And amazingly Shoma's 2nd year as bronze medalist. I can't say I'm not a Yuzuru Hanyu fan. I have been since 2014 Me and my amazement of Sochi. I just haven't been very vocal about it before because there are lots of Yuzuru fans and If I'm going to be honest I kinda hate being part of bandwagons. So yeah here I am 2 years after admiring him. But I kinda have my sights set more on Shoma now. He's a total cutie pie. haha Sorry. I'm having too much fun. Anyways I just wanted to inform everyone that I won't have classes on Sunday next week because I'll go to a birthday party ok? :) after that day I'll be wholly yours :)) See you! :D

Hi. I'm kind of in a pinch right now. It's exam week next week and here I am being frantic about the Ice Skating Grand Prix Finals orz I mean it only happened this morning! Phlippine time and I can't help but be excited about the results of the short programs! I feel like everyone was soo nervous! or maybe most of them have somekind of hidden injury that we don't know about. I mean this is the real deal. They must have been working themselves too much and you can see on their performances that they did cleaner jobs on their craft before this. I wish they'd rest more rather than practice themselves to death today. They have this day off. I hope that they will rest today out. Oh here's the performance of my favorite skater. I love him to death right now. especially his free skate song. that song is my mantra right now


Sorry for not focusing on my own school. orz I promise I will study. Maybe I was just really tired from work yesterday too. It was really busy. I mean it was Thursday so I didn't expect there would be lots of students that day but there were. I was kinda expecting I'd be killing time yesterday left and right but one after another students have been booking my classes and it ended up with me only having 3 open classes! wow Thank you very much everyone! I just wanted to say that it was a real pleasure meeting everybody! I am happiest when I meet new students and make them happy. Anyways everyone should have noticed I don't have open classes today because I had to join a seminar this morning. I did go to the seminar but I ended up sleeping the rest of the day when I should have used my time today to study for preliminary exams next week. I promise to study tonight orz I'm sorry. With that said I'll start ok? I'll see you guys tomorrow! If you guys want to see me tomorrow that is. Bye! :D

Don't get me wrong. I'm on a roll and I'm happy with classes. I just hate how Facebook sometimes throw things like these at my face and just ruin me sometimes. I just wanted to share that yeah there are times that it's ok to be sad and post it online but sometimes people who want to get better and see stuff like this are kind of destroying sometimes. This is one of the reasons why I hate Facebook. They post unnecessary things like these and make some people feel unhealthy about themselves. Did I really just generalize myself?
